SUMMARY:Mid-Appalachian Bonsai Kai Show
DESCRIPTION:Mid-Appalachian Bonsai Kai has invited members of the Tennessee Valley Bonsai Society to exhibit trees in their 2019 bonsai show\, which takes place April 27 and 28 at the Kingsport Civic Center. There is no charge to enter. There’s plenty of parking and a loading dock for easy access. \nContact Ken Schultz if you plan to exhibit trees so that MABK can plan space. \nEven if you don’t plan to exhibit\, MABK invites you to come see the exhibit and enjoy a weekend of bonsai fun. This year’s artist will be Shannon Salyer\, well known to our groups for his bonsai work and especially shohins. Vendors will include Berea Bonsai\, Stands and Stones\, Dat Tran\, and Mark Issenberg (bonsai pottery). More are in the works. \nMABK will host a bonsai community dinner Saturday night at a local restaurant. (Guests will be responsible for buying their own dinner.) \nEvent Schedule\n\n\n\nFriday\, April 26\n3 to 9 p.m.\nSetup: Most of the MABK people will arrive around 5pm. Civic center staff will set up tables for us. Please don’t plan to arrive earlier than 3 p.m.\n\n\nSaturday\, April 27\n9 a.m. to 5 p.m.\nShow and Silent Auction\n\n\n9 a.m.\nLate setup.\n\n\n9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.\nMorning workshop with Shannon Salyer\n\n\n2 p.m. to 4 p.m.\nAfternoon demo\n\n\n6 p.m.\nBonsai Community Dinner (details to be finalized)\n\n\nSunday\, April 28\n9 to 10:30 a.m.\nArtist Critique\n\n\n10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.\nShow open to the public\n\n\n1 p.m.\nSilent auction closes.\n\n\n3 p.m.\nShow closes.\n\n\n5 p.m.\nWe must be out of the civic center.
